Rod Stewart Plans to Continue Making Music Despite His Children’s Pleas

Rock legend Rod Stewart, at 78 years old, has no plans to retire from making music any time soon, despite his children’s requests. Stewart recently spoke to People, stating that he loves what he does and has no intention of leaving the spotlight. Although his career will look different once he completes his upcoming 40-show global tour, he plans to keep making music well into his 80s.

Stewart revealed that he wants to move on to swing music and the Great American Song Book. He stated that he will not take his songs to the cemetery and bury them but will bring them out on the odd occasion. However, he would like to put them to rest for a while and have no more big tours. Stewart has said his farewell to Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico, and it is now time to say goodbye to the US.

To keep up with his busy schedule, Stewart said he works out extensively, at least four days a week. He has played soccer all his life, and he does not smoke. Critics have commented that he has gone off the stage to rest, but he stated that he is wringing wet and not tired. He is fit and has no trouble keeping up with his shows.

Earlier this month, an insider told the Daily Mail that some of Stewart’s children would like to see him slow down. They are worried about his health and want him to retire on his terms. Stewart has devoted 50 years of his life to music, and he has nothing left to prove to anyone. After the birth of his third grandchild, they believe it is time for him to focus on his health and his family.

Stewart has eight children ranging in age from 12 to 59, whom he shares with four different women. He quietly battled prostate cancer for three years before beating it in 2019. He also beat thyroid cancer in 2000. In 2020, he underwent knee replacement and ankle fusion surgery after getting injured while playing soccer.

Stewart’s family hopes that when his tour is wrapped, he will be done and stick to his decision. However, Stewart does not know how to stop creating music. It is his life, and he would love to continue rocking out forever. He believes that his fans need him, and although he plans to slow down, he will never stop making music.
