Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Miss King Charles’s Birthday Parade

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will not attend King Charles’s birthday parade, known as Trooping the Colour, on Saturday. The couple stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Montecito, Santa Barbara, where they live with their children Archie and Lilibet. The couple has reportedly landed deals with Netflix, and Markle has signed up with a Hollywood talent agency. However, it was recently announced that the couple has parted ways with Spotify, and Markle’s Archetypes podcast will not be renewed for a second season.

Harry also published his memoir Spare in January, in which he discussed his complicated relationship with his family. The couple last made a joint visit to the UK in September 2022 when they attended the One Young World Summit in Manchester. They extended their stay following the death of the Queen and attended her state funeral at Westminster Abbey.

Harry has since made three solo trips to London this year. In March, he attended a preliminary hearing at the High Court in his privacy claim against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) – the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail On Sunday. In May, he attended King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation at Westminster Abbey, but he stayed for less than 24 hours and flew back to California to celebrate his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Earlier this month, Harry appeared in the witness box at the High Court, giving evidence in his case against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over alleged unlawful information gathering at its titles. During his testimony, the Duke repeatedly told the court that articles published in MGN titles were “incredibly suspicious” and bore “tell-tale signs” of unlawful activity. He recalled suspicious activity, including missed calls and missing voicemail messages “from the moment I had a mobile phone.”

However, MGN’s barrister Andrew Green KC contended that Harry had no call data evidence, and it was “total speculation” that journalists had unlawfully obtained information about him in 33 articles that are at the center of his case.

Although Harry and Markle attended the Queen’s last Trooping the Colour in 2022, they did not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the flypast. Instead, Markle was spotted at the windows during a sweet interaction with Peter Phillips’ daughters, Savannah and Isla, and Zara Tindall’s children, Mia and Lena.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not attend Trooping the Colour this year, despite their previous attendance at the event. The couple has been busy with their personal and business ventures and has been traveling frequently between the UK and the US. Harry has also been involved in legal battles with media outlets over alleged unlawful information gathering.
