Jon Hamm, the longtime bachelor, recently hinted at the possibility of starting a family with Anna Osceola, just days before their wedding. During an episode of the podcast “Table for Two,” host Bruce Bozzi praised Hamm for the life he has “created” and asked whether this would lead to “creating a family.” Rather than dismissing the idea, Hamm responded with a “TBD. TBD.”
A New Phase of Life
Describing his relationship with Osceola as the “exciting part of life,” Hamm, who is 52, sees it as a signpost and a signifier of the next chapter. He believes it brings a sense of stability and comfort. In a 2012 Playboy interview, Hamm had sworn off marriage and having children, stating that he did not feel a “driving force” to start a family. However, he also mentioned that he was not ruling it out completely.
By September 2022, Hamm’s perspective had changed. During an interview with Howard Stern, he explained how his comfortable romance with Osceola had made him more open to the idea of milestones, including welcoming children. Hamm attributed this shift in mindset to his therapist and the process of working on his mental health. He revealed that his mother’s death during his childhood had created emotional wounds that had blocked his ability to be vulnerable and accessible. Reflecting on his past and addressing his trauma has given him a deeper understanding of himself and has made his current relationship more meaningful.
Despite acknowledging that he may sound “hokey,” Hamm expressed his commitment to working towards his newfound goals of marriage and parenthood.
A Serendipitous Meeting
Hamm met Osceola in 2014 while filming the series finale of “Mad Men.” However, they did not start dating until 2020. Their wedding took place in Big Sur, California, where they had previously shot an episode of the show.
As Hamm embraces this new phase of his life, it is clear that he has undergone personal growth and transformation. His journey towards self-discovery has opened up the possibility of a future filled with love, commitment, and the joy of fatherhood.
