According to an insider, “All the members are pissed off.” These affluent individuals are unhappy that the club is closing the course, pool, and restaurant during the tournament while still requiring them to pay. Considering the substantial membership fees that grant them access to these amenities throughout the year, it is understandable why they feel cheated. It appears that the club’s management has not taken their loyal members into consideration when making the decision to charge for tickets.
LIV Golf, the organization responsible for the tournament, is known for its unexpected rise and the subsequent challenges it has posed to the PGA Tour. By enticing players with enormous paychecks, the Saudi-based league has created an existential crisis for the established PGA Tour. Given the financial capacity of LIV Golf, there should be no issue in providing complimentary tickets to the members of Bedminster National. One would assume that they could easily afford this gesture, particularly for wealthy individuals who have invested a significant amount of money to be part of the prestigious golf club.
