Gwyneth Paltrow Honors Fathers in Her Life on Father’s Day

On Father’s Day, Gwyneth Paltrow took to Instagram to pay tribute to the three special men in her life: her late father Bruce Paltrow, her ex-husband Chris Martin, and her current husband Brad Falchuk. She shared rare photos of all three men to celebrate the occasion. Gwyneth was first married to Chris Martin, the frontman of the band Coldplay, with whom she shares two children, Apple and Moses. The couple split in 2016 and famously “consciously uncoupled.” In 2018, Gwyneth married Brad Falchuk, the co-creator of Glee, who was previously married to Suzanne Bukinik from 1994 to 2013. The couple shares two children, Isabella and Brody.

Brad Falchuk’s Father’s Day Tribute

Gwyneth first shared a photo of Brad and his daughter, Isabella, sitting on a private plane, and wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to our Brad Falchuk.” She followed that with a photo of Brad and his son, Brody, at the beach, and wrote: “He is the greatest.” Gwyneth also described Brad as a “great dog dad” in a photo where he is laying down on a couch with a sweet pup on him. Additionally, she praised him as a “great stepdad” in a photo where he is pictured next to Apple.

Gwyneth also paid tribute to Chris Martin on Father’s Day, sharing a photo of the two of them with their two children apparently after their divorce. She wrote: “And Happy Father’s Day to this guy,” next to a blue heart emoji. She also shared photos of the award-winning singer with his son Moses, who is 17 years old.

Finally, Gwyneth shared an adorable throwback photo with her late father, Bruce Paltrow, a famous Hollywood film and television director and producer. She wrote: “And of course to this guy, Bruce Paltrow,” alongside a photo of herself kissing her dad’s cheek outside the stoop of their “townhouse on 92nd Street” in New York City. Bruce Paltrow passed away in 2002 at the age of 58 while celebrating his daughter’s birthday in Rome. He died suddenly of pneumonia related to complications of his recurring battle with oral cancer.

In an interview with People, Gwyneth’s mother, Blythe Danner, revealed that she had also recently overcome a battle with a rare form of oral cancer named adenoid cystic carcinoma. She discovered a lump in her throat “right next” to where her late husband had first felt his and was diagnosed in 2018. After four years, including three surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, she was finally in remission. Gwyneth, when she learned of her mother’s diagnosis, was reminded of her late husband’s battle with the same cancer.
