Queen Letizia and King Felipe Enjoy Summer Holiday with Daughters in Palma, Majorca

The Spanish royal family, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, along with their two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, kicked off their annual summer holiday in Palma, Majorca, with a visit to the Jardines de Alfàbia in the Sierra de Tramuntana. The royal family looked stunning as they posed for photographs during their tour of the gardens.

A Fashionable Display

Queen Letizia, known for her impeccable fashion sense, was the epitome of elegance in a beautiful hot pink strappy dress by Adolfo Domínguez. She complemented her outfit with flat espadrilles and a raffia tote bag. Her daughters, Leonor and Sofia, also exhibited their style, with Leonor wearing a button-up midi dress by Mango and cream wedges, and Sofia donning a boho-inspired mini-dress with long sleeves from the Parisian label, Ba&sh. King Felipe, maintaining his impeccable sense of tailoring, opted for a smart casual look with white trousers and a blue ombre-toned shirt.

Exploring Alfabia

During their visit to the Jardines de Alfàbia, the royal family had the opportunity to explore the complex, which includes a house, gardens, and an orchard. They stopped to pose for photographs, capturing their enjoyment as they walked through the scenic site.

Exciting Times Ahead

This summer marks a significant transition for the Spanish royals, as Princess Leonor, who will turn 18 in October, will commence three years of training at the General Military Academy later this month. In May, she graduated from the UWC Atlantic College after completing a two-year International Baccalaureate programme. Following her sister’s footsteps, Sofia is set to enroll at the college as well, located in the historic St Donat’s Castle on the southern Welsh coast. Notable alumni of the college include King Willem-Alexander, Princess Raiyah bint Al-Hussein of Jordan, and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium.

Remembering King Baudouin of Belgium

As part of their summer activities, King Felipe and his youngest daughter, Princess Eleonore, joined Queen Sofia of Spain in attending a commemorative event for the anniversary of the death of King Baudouin of Belgium in Motril, Spain.

King Felipe assumed the throne in June 2014 after his father, Juan Carlos I, abdicated. Prior to that, the prince married former TV news anchor Letizia Ortiz in a grand ceremony at the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid in May 2004. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, in 2005, followed by their second daughter, Infanta Sofia, in 2007.

This summer, the Spanish royal family is enjoying their time in Palma, Majorca, making lasting memories and preparing for the future of the crown.
