Earl Spencer Praises Princess Diana’s Sense of Humour in Recent Interview

Charles Spencer, the brother of the late Princess Diana, has spoken about his sister’s legacy in a recent interview. In a conversation with model Twiggy on her Tea With Twiggy podcast, Charles praised Princess Diana’s sense of humour and what she brought to the royal family. He acknowledged that the royal family was doing a solid job with responsibility and duty before his sister entered the picture. However, Princess Diana’s influence was significant, and she brought a unique perspective to the family. Charles recalled an event where he attended a classical concert with Princess Diana for one of her charities. After the concert, Princess Diana went on stage to talk to the orchestra, and they loved her. Charles remembers that there were around 80 of them clustered around her, and it was rather like children meeting Father Christmas. Princess Diana had a genius for people, and that was what made her unique.

Twiggy also had a brief meeting with Princess Diana, and she reflected on it during the podcast. Charles sweetly added that Princess Diana and he grew up with Twiggy in the news, and she would have been genuinely thrilled to have met her.

The Coincidence of Althorp House

Charles Spencer is the custodian of his family’s ancestral home, Althorp House, where he grew up with his sisters, including Princess Diana. During the podcast, Charles spoke about an incredible coincidence concerning the estate. Althorp House is open to the public between 1 July and 31 August every year. It opens on the anniversary of Princess Diana’s birthday and closes on the anniversary of her death, which was never the intention. Visitors from far and wide come to see the property’s rich 500-year history, and while photographs inside the house are not permitted, they can tour many of its beautiful rooms.

Charles explained that they had an agreement with the government about how many days to keep the house open. The agreement was made five years before Princess Diana’s death, and it happened to coincide with the dates of her birth and death. Twiggy asked Charles if that was a coincidence, to which he replied it was a total coincidence.

Exciting Developments at Althorp House

Last month, Charles shared a glimpse inside an exciting project taking place at the sprawling 13,000-acre estate. He posted a sun-soaked snapshot of numerous archaeologists preparing to sit down for a rewarding outdoor meal on Instagram. The project aims to uncover Althorp House’s rich history further and make it accessible to the general public.

Charles Spencer spoke about his sister, Princess Diana, and what she brought to the royal family. He praised her sense of humour and how she had a genius for people. Althorp House, where Princess Diana grew up, is open to the public, coincidentally on the dates of her birth and death. The estate is rich in history and attracts visitors from all over the world. Charles Spencer is committed to preserving his sister’s legacy and keeping her memory alive.
