Kelly Ripa has a Self-Tanning Mishap Before Filming “Live”

Kelly Ripa, the co-host of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” had a self-tanning mishap just moments before filming the show. After receiving a warm welcome from the studio audience, Ripa’s husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, complimented her on her beautiful pale pink dress. However, Ripa felt that she looked a little too pale in the dress and decided to use a spray-on self-tanner to add some color. Unfortunately, as she was zipping back into the dress, she realized that her hands had turned green.

Ripa showed her green hands to the camera and joked with the audience, asking them to let her know if her body started turning green too. Consuelos reassured Ripa that she looked great, but also made a quick jab at her self-tanning skills, saying that the tell-tale sign of a spray tan is the hands.

Throughout the hour-long episode, viewers could see that Ripa was getting more tan by the minute, but thankfully, she did not turn completely green. Toward the end of the show, some viewers gave Ripa advice on how to remove her self-tanner, including rubbing half a lemon on her hands or washing them with shaving cream.

A Series of Wardrobe Malfunctions

While Ripa made it through the show without a major beauty blunder, she has had a series of wardrobe malfunctions in recent months. A few weeks ago, she had a small wardrobe emergency right before walking on stage in the same dress she had ripped the month prior. Although Ripa did not reveal exactly what happened backstage, she teased the audience that it was very exciting and that she almost did not walk out on stage.

“Live with Kelly and Mark” airs weekdays on ABC at 9 a.m. ET. Despite her occasional mishaps, Ripa remains a beloved and entertaining host on the long-running talk show.
