The Princess of Wales Reveals Prince Louis’ Wimbledon Disappointment

The youngest son of the Princess of Wales, Prince Louis, expressed his disappointment at missing out on attending the Wimbledon final on Sunday. However, he has been making up for it by practicing as a ball boy. Princess Kate, accompanied by her husband, the Prince of Wales, and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, enjoyed the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final from the Royal Box at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The final marked the end of Novak Djokovic’s ten-year winning streak, as Carlos Alcaraz emerged as the new champion after a grueling five-hour match.

During a conversation with Ella Ottaway, who oversees the All England Club’s young people program, Princess Kate mentioned that it was Charlotte’s first time attending Wimbledon, while George had come last year. She added that they had been eagerly watching the matches. Kate also revealed that her youngest son, five-year-old Louis, was very upset about not being able to attend the final. She even informed a 16-year-old ball boy named Joel that Louis had been practicing his ball boy skills.

Joel, after speaking to the princess, shared with the PA news agency that Louis tries to imitate the ball boys’ serious demeanor. He practices standing and staying serious, mimicking the ball boys’ positions at the back of the court and beside the players.

For the tournament, Kate wore a stunning green Roland Mouret dress, paired with an elegant chain bag, nude pointed heels, and eye-catching jewel earrings. Prince William looked dapper in a light grey linen suit and a navy tie. Meanwhile, Prince George looked smart in a navy blue suit, and Princess Charlotte appeared as elegant as ever in a paisley print blue dress with ruffled sleeves.

Seeing George and Charlotte in the royal box is a rare sight, as it is typically reserved for VIPs and Hollywood A-listers. According to Dickie Arbiter, the late monarch’s former press secretary, Wimbledon decides who gets invited to the box, and they distribute the tickets through a ballot system. This rule has caused some controversy in the past, as non-royal youngsters are generally not allowed in the Royal Box.

The presence of the two royal children delighted onlookers, and a sweet moment caught their attention before they made their way to the box. In a photograph, Princess Charlotte was seen bending down to stroke a police dog named Stella. Fans took to social media to express their adoration for the touching moment. Additionally, many remarked on how much Prince George has grown, with one fan noting that he is transitioning from a boy to a young man and predicting that he will be a heartbreaker with his Wales genes.

Despite Prince Louis’ disappointment at missing out on the Wimbledon final, his dedication to practicing as a ball boy showcases his enthusiasm for the sport. The entire royal family’s presence at the tournament added to the excitement and made for a memorable day at Wimbledon.
