Sarah Ferguson Reflects on a Poignant Walk with Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, recently shared a series of pictures from a touching excursion she took with her corgis on Tuesday, July 11. The walk held sentimental value as it followed the same route they used to take with the late Queen Elizabeth. Sarah and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, reside at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where they care for their five Norfolk terriers. They welcomed the Queen’s two corgis, Muick and Sandy, after her passing in September 2022. Reflecting on the experience, Sarah expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to remember and honor the Queen’s memory.

Settling into a New Home

Muick and Sandy were originally gifted to Queen Elizabeth by Andrew and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, in 2021 while Prince Philip was in the hospital. Devastating pictures of the two pups surfaced after the Queen’s passing, depicting their desolation. However, Sarah revealed earlier this year that the corgis have adapted well to their new home. She described them as “very sweet, very polite, and well-behaved.” Sharing the responsibility of walking the dogs, Sarah admitted that it sometimes confuses them, as they never know who will be taking them out. Nonetheless, she expressed her love for the corgis and the honor she feels in having them with her.

Tea Talks with the Duchess & Sarah

In an upcoming episode of her podcast, Tea Talks with the Duchess & Sarah, Sarah will delve into the topic of dealing with grief, gaining strength, and the steps towards recovery. Launched in May, the podcast features Sarah Jane Thomson, an entrepreneur, and explores the highs and lows of everyday life. In a particularly moving episode last month, Sarah opened up about her successful surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Urging her listeners to prioritize their health, she emphasized the importance of screening and early detection. Despite the initial inclination to postpone her appointment, Sarah expressed her gratitude for the diagnosis. She viewed it as an opportunity to make positive changes in her life, focusing on self-care instead of constantly trying to fix others.

A Journey of Reflection and Growth

Sarah’s poignant walk with Queen Elizabeth’s corgis served as a moment of remembrance, allowing her to cherish the memories of their shared experiences. As the Duchess continues to navigate life’s challenges, her podcast provides a platform for open and honest discussions about various topics. From grief to personal growth, Sarah’s journey inspires listeners to confront their own struggles and find strength in difficult times. By sharing her own experiences, she encourages others to prioritize their well-being and take proactive steps towards a better future.
