Presley and Keough Celebrate Graduation After Reaching Legal Settlement

Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough were seen together in a recent Instagram post celebrating Lisa Marie Presley’s twin daughters’ middle school graduation. In the photo, Priscilla was standing with Riley and her two 14-year-old sisters, Harper and Finley, with all of them looking happy and festive. The family was dressed in coordinating outfits with the twins wearing black shirts and simple jewelry. Priscilla wore a yellow print dress, while Riley wore a blue striped collared frock and a big sunhat. The caption of the family photo read “Happy Graduation girls! You’re now in high school!!!”

Legal Settlement Over Estate Matters

The family gathering comes just days after Riley and her grandmother, Priscilla, finally reached an agreement on Lisa Marie’s estate matters. The legal drama surrounding Lisa Marie’s estate had caused Priscilla and Riley to stop talking to each other. According to court documents, Riley agreed to pay Priscilla a $1 million lump-sum payment in addition to another $400,000 to cover her legal fees. However, Priscilla was reportedly denied her request to be buried next to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll during the negotiation talks. Priscilla denied rumors of a family squabble in court docs, saying she fired the lawyers responsible for disputing the will.

Reflections on the Legal Issues

In a declaration filed in June, Priscilla shared how pleased she was with the way their legal issues were resolved, noting that her late husband would be happy. “My daughter’s passing was both devastating and heartbreaking. We have learned that the fans realize that we are ‘Just a Family.’ Elvis would be proud and his and Lisa’s wishes are what are most important to all of us.”

Remembering Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie died on January 12, 2021, at the age of 54 after going into cardiac arrest. She was laid to rest in a garden at Graceland beside her beloved late son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide at the age of 27 in 2020. Elvis, as well as his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, are also buried in the garden of the Memphis, Tennessee, property. At the memorial, Riley had her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, read a letter on her behalf, where she expressed her gratitude towards her mother. Priscilla also shared sweet words about her only daughter with Elvis at the time of her death, calling her the most passionate, strong, and loving woman she had ever known.

Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough’s recent family gathering to celebrate the graduation of Lisa Marie Presley’s twin daughters is a heartwarming moment for the family. The legal settlement over Lisa Marie’s estate matters also seems to have brought the family closer together. The family will continue to remember Lisa Marie as a loving and passionate woman who left a lasting impact on their lives.
