Meghan Markle Honored at Women of Vision Awards

Prince Harry accompanied his wife, Meghan Markle, to the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards where she received the Woman of Vision Award. The event was held on Tuesday and was attended by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Meghan stunned everyone with her appearance in a slinky gold midi dress by Johanna Ortiz with a scallop design and discreet cut-out detailing on the torso. She paired the dress with Bronze Metallic Lizard-Print Lock High-Heel Sandals by Tom Ford and accessorized it with a Carolina Herrara Metropolitan Insignia’ Small Box Bag in Yellow. She wore her hair in curls over one shoulder and kept her makeup neutral with a bronzed glow and nude lips.

Meghan was presented with the award by Gloria Steinem, a legendary activist, journalist, and feminist icon who is also a co-founder of Ms Foundation. The award honors Meghan’s work in “global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.” Other honorees include Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown, Wanda Irving, co-founder of Dr. Shalon’s Maternal Action Project, Kimberly Inez McGuire, executive director of Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, abortion rights activist Olivia Julianne, and LGBTQ+ advocate Rebekah Bruesehoff.

Meghan is described as “a feminist, champion of human rights and gender equity, and global role model” in a biography on the Ms. Foundation’s website. The biography highlights that her lifelong advocacy for women and girls remains a constant thread she weaves through both humanitarian and business ventures.

Teresa C. Younger, Ms. Foundation president and CEO, said in a statement ahead of the event, “Meghan, LaTosha, Wanda, Kimberly, Olivia, and Rebekah are incredible leaders. We are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world.”

The Duchess’ appearance at the awards ceremony follows her celebration of her son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday on May 6. The event was held on the same day as King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation, with Prince Harry making a swift return to the US after attending the service in London.

Meghan has kept a low profile in recent months, with the awards ceremony being one of her few public appearances in 2023. The Sussexes enjoyed a date night at a Lakers game last month, and Meghan appeared in a video message to introduce her friend and photographer, Misan Harriman, at his Ted Talk in April.

Last month, it was announced that Meghan will be represented by super agent Ari Emanuel of WME, and various departments within the agency will head up her business and creative ventures. WME will also represent Archewell’s content banner, which includes her Spotify podcast, Archetypes, and under which the global icon has been advocating for women, mothers, and girls.
