Washington D.C. is known for its bitter factions, rank suspicion, and entrenched interests. However, the most acrimonious clash of the moment may not be between Democrats and Republicans but between liberal media darling, Molly Jong-Fast, and Trumpworld power broker, Kellyanne Conway.
Rumors of a feud between the two have been circulating since the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. While some of the reports may be exaggerated, the bottom line is that these two hate each other. Both have denied giving the other a moment’s thought, but that seems to be an alternative fact in both cases.
According to sources, Conway spotted Jong-Fast and told her, “You’re a mess!” during the run-up to the party. Jong-Fast then told everyone that Conway was menacingly following her around the party circuit. The disagreement seems to stem from the fact that the former Vogue writer, a longtime pal of Conway’s estranged husband, George, co-founder of the Lincoln Project, was the first to publicly hint at the Conways’ impending divorce.
The Backstory
In March, Jong-Fast asked George on her podcast if “there’s going to be a change in your life.” He replied: “It’s possible.” (Page Six first made sense of the exchange, reporting that the most bizarre Beltway couple in recent memory was kaput.) Kellyanne told reporters, “I’ve never had a conversation with this person in my life. She does love attention, though, and knows it’s easier to get it with my name attached.”
Jong-Fast said, “My association with her does me no good, I promise you that.” It is clear that the feud between these two runs deep and shows no signs of slowing down.
In a town where political feuds are a dime a dozen, the Jong-Fast and Conway feud is one of the most talked-about. It makes the RNC and the DNC seem like snuggle buddies. Despite their public denials, it is clear that there is no love lost between these two women.
