However, their friendship came to an abrupt end when Meghan started dating Prince Harry in 2016. The last time Mackintosh saw Meghan was at a hotel in the Cotswolds. They had planned to do yoga together, but it turned into an afternoon of rosè and margaritas in the pool. That was when Meghan mentioned that she was dating Harry. After stories about Meghan and Harry began circulating in the press, Mackintosh reached out to Meghan to check on her. However, she received an abrupt message in response, which Mackintosh felt was unlike any of their previous communications. Mackintosh felt like the Duchess had “basically told me to [expletive] off in that message. So I did. And we haven’t spoken since.”
