Billie Eilish, the “Bad Guy” singer, has been slowly adding tattoos to her body over the past few years. Initially, Eilish wasn’t comfortable showing off her tattoos in public, but she has grown more confident in recent years. In 2020, Eilish turned 18 and told Vanity Fair that she had gotten her first tattoo but swore to keep it hidden beneath her signature baggy clothes. However, things have changed, and Eilish has revealed her tattoos to the world.
Eilish’s first tattoo was her last name, which she had inked on her chest in an ornate, gothic font. The singer waited three years to reveal the artwork to the world. In 2021, Eilish revealed the meaning behind the tattoo, stating that it represents her love for herself. She flashed the tattoo for the first time in a rare bikini photo on Instagram, to the delight of her fans.
Eilish debuted a magical design on her left hand at the “No Time to Die” premiere in September 2021. She described the tattoo as her “little guardian angel fairies” and revealed that the characters are from a book called ‘Fairyopolis.’
Eilish’s hip-hugging dragon that climbs up from her right thigh is enormous. While she has never shown off the entire tattoo at once, the singer first gave a glimpse at the tail end in her lingerie-clad cover shoot for British Vogue in May 2021. She teased it again at the 2021 Met Gala, and later revealed the dragon’s head in a sultry Instagram selfie in May 2023.
Despite having three known tattoos, Eilish doesn’t plan to have full sleeves anytime soon. In 2021, she told Vanity Fair that she has more ideas but feels pretty satisfied with her current tattoos, adding that her mom “hates” tattoos. Eilish promised that she will get another tattoo soon.
