Zara and Mike Tindall Celebrate Their 12th Wedding Anniversary

Zara Tindall, the accomplished Olympic equestrian, and her husband Mike, a rugby player, are currently enjoying the school summer holidays with their three children – Mia, Lena, and Lucas. This Sunday, the couple will have an extra reason to celebrate as they mark their 12th wedding anniversary. Back on July 30, 2011, Zara and Mike tied the knot at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. The ceremony, which took place just months after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding, was filled with excitement. Distinguished guests in attendance included members of the royal family, such as Zara’s parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, as well as the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late Duke of Edinburgh.

A Beautiful Bride

Zara looked stunning on her wedding day in an ivory silk dress designed by Stewart Parvin. The dress featured tulle straps and a chevron-pleated bodice, exuding elegance and grace. Adding sentimental value to her ensemble, Zara wore the Meander Tiara, previously worn by her mother, Princess Anne. Her bridal party included her paternal half-sister, Stephanie Phillips, and her best friend, Dolly Maude. Following the wedding service, the newlyweds enjoyed a reception at the magnificent Palace of Holyroodhouse.

A Love Story Born from Sports

Zara and Mike’s love story began during their Rugby World Cup-winning campaign in Australia in 2003. As an equestrian and a rugby player, their shared passion for sports brought them together, and their love grew stronger over time. In 2010, Mike proposed to Zara with a stunning diamond and platinum ring, solidifying their commitment to each other.

The sporty couple welcomed their first child, Mia, in January 2014, embracing parenthood with joy. Their family expanded further with the arrival of Lena in June 2018 and Lucas in March 2021. Currently, the family-of-five resides at Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.

Upcoming Events

Despite their busy schedules, Zara and Mike always prioritize involving their children in their festivities. In the upcoming Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park from August 4 to 6, Zara will be competing in the equestrian event, while her father, Captain Mark Phillips, serves as the Course Director and her brother, Peter Phillips, holds the position of Event Director. Zara and Mike will also be participating in a speaking event at the Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing’s Live Lounge on Sunday, August 6, continuing their tradition of incorporating their children into their activities.

A Summer Filled with Adventure

The Tindall family has made the most of their summer break, engaging in various thrilling activities. They embarked on a sun-soaked trip to Monaco for the F1 Grand Prix, indulged in the glamour of Royal Ascot, and enjoyed the prestigious Wimbledon tournament. Despite their packed schedules, Zara and Mike continue to create beautiful memories together.

As Zara and Mike celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary, it is evident that their love, shared interests, and growing family have kept their bond strong. Here’s to many more joyful years together for this remarkable couple!
