The Playful Side of Prince Harry Shines at the 2023 Invictus Games

Prince Harry, known for his sense of humor and playful nature, delighted officials and athletes at the 2023 Invictus Games in Dusseldorf with his mischievous antics. One of these moments occurred when he mingled with Team UK athlete Charlie Holford. The 32-year-old army veteran shared a selfie with Prince Harry wearing his futuristic wrap-around pink sunglasses. With a wide grin on his face, Prince Harry embraced the lightheartedness of the moment.

Charlie Holford, who was due to compete in Indoor Rowing, Sitting Volleyball, and Wheelchair rugby, humorously described the interaction. He posted two pictures on his Instagram account with the handle “onelegandamullet.” In the first picture, he remarked, “I told him he could try them on,” referring to the pink sunglasses. The second picture captured Prince Harry looking mock glum after being told he couldn’t keep the sunglasses. Charlie playfully concluded, “He did get to stroke my hair though, he left a happy man.”

Prince Harry officially launched the 2023 Invictus Games at an engaging opening ceremony. Taking the stage, he delivered an emotive speech that captivated the audience. While his wife, Meghan, stayed back in their LA home with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, she was in his thoughts during the ceremony. With a hint of jest, he playfully remarked, “Now I’m not saying we play favorites in our home, but since my wife has discovered that she is of Nigerian descent, it’s likely to get a little more competitive this year.”

Before arriving in Germany for the Invictus Games, Prince Harry paid tribute to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on the anniversary of her death. After leaving Windsor, he embarked on the journey, showcasing his commitment to honoring his family’s legacy.
