Sarah, Duchess of York celebrates King Charles’ coronation with a tea party for care home residents

Sarah, Duchess of York, began her coronation celebrations by fulfilling a sweet promise she had made earlier. She arranged for a tea party at a local care home, close to her Royal Lodge residence in Windsor. The Duchess shared pictures of the event on her Instagram account, which showed a table covered with a red and white checkered tablecloth and an assortment of sweet treats, including Charles’ Crunchy Cream Cake, Camilla’s Tea, scones, strawberries, and a hamper brimming with picnic goodies. She even invited her corgis, Sandy and Muick, adopted last year after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In the caption, Sarah wrote, “I hope you have got the bunting out ready for the Coronation tomorrow. I certainly have. Today I assembled a tea fit for a King which I shared with the residents at the Manor Care Home in Windsor to help them celebrate. Enjoy the weekend!”

The Duchess’s kind gesture was applauded by her fans, with many expressing their admiration for her on Instagram. The tea party was a prelude to King Charles’s coronation, which many are eagerly looking forward to.

A Family Celebration

Speaking on Loose Women about her plans for the coronation day, Sarah said that she would be having a little tea room, coronation chicken sandwich, and putting out the bunting. She also revealed that she would be watching the coronation on TV as she loves the commentary. While the Duchess won’t be among the 2,300 guests attending the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, she has been invited to the coronation concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday night.

Sarah has previously spoken about her relationship with the royal family, saying that she values her private time with them. She was also invited to spend Christmas and Easter with the royals, indicating that her relationship with them has improved. The Duchess’s sweet gesture towards the care home residents shows that she is looking forward to the coronation and is keen to celebrate it with her family and the wider community.
