Princess Beatrice Wears Her Mother’s Tiara to Jordanian Royal Wedding

Princess Beatrice, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, surprised royal watchers at Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein’s wedding reception in Amman, Jordan, by wearing a tiara that many thought would never be seen again. The York Tiara, which was created by Garrard for Sarah Ferguson’s wedding to Prince Andrew in 1986, had not been seen since 2001.

The Tiara

The diamond tiara features floral and leaf designs and was given as a gift by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to their future daughter-in-law. The expert of royal jewelry, Lauren Kiehna, said, “It’s always so exciting to see a long-hidden tiara come back into the spotlight again. Princess Beatrice wore the tiara beautifully in Jordan.”

The Dress

Beatrice wore a champagne-colored Reem Acra gown, featuring dramatic gold beading on the bodice, with her mother’s heirloom. She also paid tribute to her mother by wearing a black hairbow similar to the 1980s hair accessories that Ferguson was known for as a royal. Earlier in the day, Beatrice wore a pale blue Needle & Thread dress while paying another sartorial tribute to her mother.

Royal Fans Reaction

The reappearance of the tiara surprised many royal fans who commented on The Court Jeweller’s Twitter post. One follower wrote, “Here I had convinced myself we would never see it again and that it had been quietly sold since neither Beatrice or Eugenie wore it for their weddings. Glad I was wrong!”

Beatrice’s choice to wear her mother’s tiara to the Jordanian royal wedding reception has stunned many royal fans. It remains to be seen if she will wear it again or if it will be passed down to future generations. Regardless, the reappearance of the York Tiara has caused excitement among royal watchers, and many are looking forward to seeing more tiara moments from Beatrice.
