Despite her absence from King Charles III’s coronation, Meghan Markle is still representing the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex was recently spotted on a hike near her home in Montecito, California, without her husband or children. She wore a black tank top and leggings with a fedora, a bandana around her neck, Victoria Beckham sunglasses, and piles of meaningful jewelry.
Markle’s Sentimental Jewelry
Markle most notably wore Princess Diana’s Cartier watch, a meaningful piece that she wears almost every day, on the hike. She also wore a Bentley & Skinner diamond tennis bracelet, which was believed to have been gifted by Charles to Diana. This bracelet is also significant for Markle, as two diamonds from it were used to create her engagement ring in 2017. In addition, Markle wore a Cartier Love bracelet and a Jennifer Meyer tennis bracelet, two pieces she often pairs together.
The Symbolism of Markle’s Necklace
Markle also wore a necklace designed by her former “Suits” co-star, the Maya Brenner x Abigail Spencer necklace. The necklace, called “The Clarity Retreat Necklace,” is made with clear quartz and is intended to help the wearer manifest their desires and let go of anything that isn’t working. The necklace is particularly significant for Markle, who reportedly skipped the coronation events to “protect her peace,” according to royal biographer Omid Scobie.
While Markle stayed home to celebrate her son’s birthday, Prince Harry made a brief appearance at Westminster Abbey during the coronation ceremony before returning to his family.
