James Fairchild and his son John were arrested on March 20 for domestic violence against two people, an adult female and a minor male. However, there are conflicting stories in the police report. According to James and John, escalated “tension” within the household prompted the minor male to start a verbal altercation with John. Shortly thereafter, the Fairchilds claim the minor “grabbed a knife from the counter and began to approach John,” the documents state. The adult female victim then allegedly got involved and attempted to separate John and the minor, and accidentally tore John’s shirt. The minor male then allegedly “struck John twice in the left shoulder/neck area,” according to the police report.
Inconsistent stories
However, the officer on the scene noted that both James and John had “inconsistent” stories and added that James “stated that at no point did he or his son touch [the victims].” In the woman’s version of events, however, she claims she walked into the home and found John “pushing” the minor male. While attempting to separate the two, she claims John shoved her to the ground, which caused her right ring finger to become dislocated, per the police report.
Denial of wrongdoing
Both John and James were escorted to Naples Jail Center without incident. The Fairchilds’ attorney denied any wrongdoing, telling Page Six, “Mr. Fairchild is not guilty of any crime and will be vindicated in court.” There is a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Monday.
