Ink Bonds the Underwood Family: Carrie Underwood and her Sisters and Mother Get Matching Tattoos in Vegas

Country music sensation Carrie Underwood surprised her fans recently when she revealed that she and her 74-year-old mother, Carole, along with her two sisters, Shanna and Stephanie, got matching tattoos during a trip to Las Vegas. Underwood took to Instagram to share the news, expressing her initial surprise at her mother’s suggestion. In her post, she wrote, “When your 74-year-old mother asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos with her in Vegas, the only questions are, ‘what?’ and ‘where?’” The Grammy-winning artist also shared adorable photos of the group displaying their new ink, small heart tattoos.

A Memorable Trip to Sin City

Underwood documented their Las Vegas adventure, including their trip to Darek Riley’s tattoo studio. Riley, a prominent tattoo artist based in Sin City, expressed his gratitude for the Underwood family’s visit on his own Instagram account. He posted the same pictures and captioned them with, “Experiences like this make Las Vegas one of the coolest places to live! A huge thank you to the Underwood gals for coming by and spending the afternoon in my studio. I am so grateful.”

While Underwood chose to have her heart tattoo placed on the top of her foot, her sisters and mother opted for their wrists. The celebrity’s friends also chimed in with their approval. Jennifer Lopez, who has her own collection of tattoos, left a heart emoji in the comments, while country singer Maddie Marlow exclaimed, “Girl you are in your tattoo era! You’re making me want another!”

However, not everyone was as enthusiastic about the Underwood family’s decision. One follower humorously commented, “When your 74-year-old mother asks you to get heart tattoos, you should politely say no.” Despite the mixed reactions, the Underwoods seemed to have enjoyed their bonding experience.

Earlier in May, Underwood had also shared another tattoo adventure with her sisters-in-law during a girls’ trip. She revealed a delicate floral arm tattoo, which she got alongside her sisters-in-law. Underwood expressed her love and appreciation for her close-knit group, writing, “Sisters…not by blood…but sisters nonetheless. God truly showed us great favor by putting us all together. These ladies are strong, kind and faithful, and I’m so happy I get to do life with them! From the beach to the tattoo parlor, Destin didn’t know what hit it!”

Carrie Underwood and her family have clearly embraced the idea of tattoos as a means of bonding and self-expression. Through their shared experiences, they have formed a deeper connection and created lasting memories. The Underwood family’s tattoo adventures remind us that sometimes stepping outside of our comfort zones can lead to unexpected and meaningful experiences.
