Ike Turner Jr. Arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine and Tampering with Evidence

Ike Turner Jr., son of famous singer Tina Turner and musician Ike Turner, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence just weeks before his mother’s death. The incident occurred on May 6th when police officers pulled Ike Jr. over due to one of his car’s lights being out. Upon speaking with him, the officers noticed that the musician was attempting to consume the narcotics in his possession. Officers ended up seizing nearly two grams of crack cocaine and just under one gram of methamphetamine.

Ike Jr.’s passenger, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, is also being charged with possession of a controlled substance. Since his arrest, Ike Jr. has been detained at the Brazoria County Jail and has not posted his $70,000 bail. Due to his legal situation, Ike Jr. was behind bars when his mother passed away on May 24th at the age of 83.

Sources have reported that Tina’s family was in shock about her passing, as many had not heard that she was seriously ill. Although Tina’s biological sons, Craig Turner and Ronnie Turner, had passed away before her death, she is survived by Ike Jr. and son Michael Turner, whom she adopted in 1962. Tina also left behind two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, most of whom she never met.

Despite falling out of touch with Tina, Ike Jr. worked alongside his parents for many years. In fact, he even won a Grammy Award for producing his father’s album “Risin’ With The Blues” in the 2006 Traditional Blues Album category. Ike Jr. had previously revealed in 2018 that he had not spoken to his adoptive mother in nearly two decades. However, he has yet to address her tragic death.
