Foreign Royals Attend Pre-Coronation Reception at Buckingham Palace with Prince William and Princess Kate

Foreign royals and world leaders gathered at Buckingham Palace for a pre-coronation reception ahead of the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. Prince William and Princess Kate were in attendance, with the Princess stunning in a royal blue dress by Self Portrait and the Queen Mother’s diamond and sapphire fringe earrings. Among the guests were Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and US First Lady Jill Biden also attended. The King mingled with guests who will be in the congregation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

Princess Kate Reunites with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary

Princess Kate was reunited with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark at the pre-coronation reception. Kate had previously undertaken a solo trip to Denmark in February 2022 as part of her Early Years work. Kensington Palace also shared a photo of the Princess with US First Lady Jill Biden and Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska. Other royals in attendance included Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Crown Princess Victoria, Crown Princess Mary, and Crown Prince Frederik.

The Senior Royals Attend Lunch with Realm Prime Ministers and Governors General

Earlier in the day, the senior royals, including Prince William and Princess Kate, joined the King at a lunch for realm prime ministers and governors general at the palace. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent were also in attendance. 42 people, including British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins, attended the lunch. Kate opted for a monochrome shift dress by Jenny Packham, while Sophie looked lovely in a pink ensemble by Suzannah London and cream accessories. The senior royals are expected to be among the 2,300 congregation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.
