Sarah Snook, star of the hit TV show “Succession,” has revealed that she has given birth to her first child with husband Dave Lawson. The actress shared the news on Instagram, along with a photo of herself holding her newborn baby. Snook expressed her gratitude for the opportunities that the show has given her and the talented people she has worked with. She described “Succession” as a career highlight that would be hard to top.
The Emmy nominee also expressed her sadness at the end of the show, saying that she will miss the friendships, scripts, locations, and early mornings. Snook concluded by saying that watching the final episode of “Succession” had changed her life, and now her life had changed again with the arrival of her baby.
Friends and colleagues of Snook were quick to offer their congratulations in the comments section of her Instagram post. J. Smith-Cameron, who played Gerri Kellman on “Succession,” called Snook the “Queen of Queens.”
Snook debuted her baby bump at the premiere of “Succession” Season 4 in March, when she was 32 weeks pregnant. She had hidden her pregnancy while filming the show, saying that her stomach was not “super big” at the time. Before giving birth to her first child, Snook was already a stepmother to Lawson’s son from a previous relationship.
Snook and Lawson, who had been friends for six years, started dating in 2020. They got engaged in October of that year and were married in February 2021 in a backyard wedding in Brooklyn.
Snook has played Shiv Roy on “Succession” since the show’s debut in 2018. In an interview with Page Six in October 2021, Snook discussed her character’s marriage to Tom Wambsgans, played by Matthew Macfayden. She described it as “not [an] ideal” partnership but said that Shiv was determined to make it work.
