Longtime Anchor Ken Rosato Fired from WABC 7 for Allegedly Making Inappropriate Comment

ABC News is in the midst of another scandal, with the firing of Ken Rosato, the longtime anchor of “Eyewitness News This Morning” on New York’s WABC 7. According to an insider, Rosato was let go after he made an off-color remark that was picked up on an open mic. While it’s unclear what he said or when he made the comment, another source stated that he was “fired for cause immediately.”

Rosato’s colleagues were informed of his firing on Friday, but management didn’t disclose what he said. An insider, however, believes that it was a racial slur. The former anchor’s bio has been removed from the company’s website, and his daily tweets from the anchor desk stopped on May 2.

Rosato’s Career at WABC 7

Ken Rosato joined “Eyewitness News” as a freelance reporter in 2003. He was later promoted to morning and noon anchor in 2007 and anchored “This Morning” with Shirleen Allicot, Heather O’Rourke, and Sam Champion. He was a well-known anchor in the New York area, and his firing has come as a shock to many viewers.

ABC News has not responded to requests for comment from Rosato or a representative. Despite his years of service, Rosato’s inappropriate comment led to his immediate departure from the network.
