Clive Davis to Release New Documentary on Annual Pre-Grammy Gala

Music industry veteran Clive Davis has announced that a new documentary is currently in production. The film, tentatively titled “The Greatest Party Ever,” will focus on his annual pre-Grammy gala, which has been held for over 50 years.

The Documentary

The new documentary, currently in the works and produced by Jesse Collins with Rob Ford directing, was previewed by Davis himself at his annual Memorial Day weekend soiree at his Pound Ridge, NY estate. The 12-minute trailer features highlights and performances from the event. The documentary will presumably feature these highlights from the past 50 years of his pre-Grammy celebration.

Guests and Performances

The trailer features a performance by the late Whitney Houston, who was planning to attend Davis’ pre-Grammy party in 2012, but her body was found in a bathtub just hours before the event started. According to a source who attended the private screening of the trailer, the documentary is “extraordinary,” with several guests shedding tears during the section on Houston.

At the Memorial Day weekend celebration, Adrienne Warren, who starred as Tina Turner in the Broadway musical, paid tribute to the late star by performing a piano-accompanied rendition of the 1989 hit, “The Best.” Meanwhile, Art Garfunkel Jr. performed an a cappella version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Over 90 guests attended the event, including Nikki Haskell, Candy Spelling, Valerie Simpson, Ann and Andrew Tisch, Nelly Moudime from Polo Bar, and Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

Previous Work

This is not Davis’ first foray into documentary filmmaking. His previous documentary, “The Soundtrack of Our Lives,” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. The film focused on Davis’ numerous collaborations and contributions to the music business.

Clive Davis’ new documentary, “The Greatest Party Ever,” promises to be an exceptional look at his annual pre-Grammy gala, which has been a staple of the music industry for over 50 years. The film will feature highlights and performances from the past celebrations, including Whitney Houston’s performance. Davis’ previous documentary, “The Soundtrack of Our Lives,” was a hit in 2017, and fans of his work will undoubtedly be eager to see what he has in store for them with this latest project.
