Bright News for Kyle Chrisley: Charges Dropped Due to Lack of Cooperation from Ex-Wife

Kyle Chrisley, the oldest son of reality TV star Todd Chrisley, is no longer facing charges in Georgia for allegedly threatening the life of his ex-wife, Alexus Whilby. This news comes as Alexus is no longer cooperating with prosecutors. The DeKalb County DA stated that after further investigation and review of the evidence, they declined to prosecute the case.

Alexus initially reported that Kyle had threatened her life via a text message in January 2019. The former reality star had sent a text to Alexus saying, “[N]ot before I end you. Im going to the streets I will get my s–t and take care of this problem with you because if I’m not with you nobody will be. Bye Alexus.” When Alexus asked if this was a “threat to my life,” Kyle reportedly responded, “Yes Lexi it was. Goodbye.”

Kyle Chrisley’s Troubles with the Law

Kyle Chrisley has struggled with mental health issues and drug addiction over the years. In March, he was arrested for aggravated assault in Tennessee for brandishing a “fixed blade” during an altercation with his supervisor at a trucking company. However, his wife, Ashleigh Chrisley, disputed this and claimed it was untrue. In 2019, Kyle was arrested in Oklahoma for alleged drug possession.

The Chrisley Family’s Legal Troubles

Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for fraud and tax evasion earlier this year. Todd is serving 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, while Julie is serving the next seven years at a facility in Kentucky. The couple allegedly submitted false documents to banks when applying for loans, and Todd’s ex-business partner claimed that he cheated on his wife with him and that they paid off a blackmailer to keep the alleged affair under wraps. Todd has denied these allegations.

Todd shares Kyle and his oldest daughter, Lindsie, 33, with ex-wife Teresa Terry. He also shares sons Chase, 26, and Grayson, 17, and daughter Savannah, 25, with his current wife, Julie Chrisley. The reality stars also adopted and were raising Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, 10, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Angela Johnson.

While Kyle may have avoided jail time this time, his father and stepmother were not so lucky. The reality series “Chrisley Knows Best” on the USA Network, which the family starred in since its inception in 2014, was canceled after Todd and Julie were sentenced.

Kyle Chrisley is no longer facing charges for allegedly threatening his ex-wife’s life due to a lack of cooperation from Alexus Whilby. This news comes as a glimmer of hope for the Chrisley family who have been dealing with legal troubles for some time.
